Open HealthMy health, in the open.

A real health journey, shared in the open to help others: the progress, the setbacks and the numbers I'm still working on. Updated every morning from my Apple Watch, training log and lab work.

    The story

Where I started, where I am now, and the messy middle.

    Heart

Blood pressure and resting heart rate. These are the numbers I most need to improve.

    Monthly

Once a month I cover the same route at the same easy pace and record my average heart rate. Fewer heartbeats per mile means a fitter heart. It's a steadier read than the watch's VO₂ max estimate, which shifts with every new watch.

    Training

Six days a week: four lifting sessions plus Zone 2 and intervals. I started this program on Oct 12, 2026.

    Medical

What I take and what my blood says. Medication is one of the tools I use, alongside training, food and sleep.

    Medications

Open any medicine for general facts about it from MedlinePlus. They describe what the drug is generally used for, not my personal reasons, and they aren't medical advice.

    Bloodwork

Flagged means a result is outside the lab's range. It's a reason to talk with a doctor, not a diagnosis.

    For you

If you came here thinking about your own health.

    • Your numbers aren't a grade, and mine aren't a target. Bodies, genes, histories and lives are different. What's hard for you may be easy for me, and the other way round.
    • Compare with your own past, not with anyone else. Better than last month is the only comparison that matters.
    • Setbacks are part of it. My long view has a big regain in the middle. Starting again still counts.
    • Getting help isn't cheating. Doctors, medication and support are tools. I use them.
    • Your questions belong with your own doctor. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
